Oliver & Bonacini in Bayview Village was the site of last night’s Insight Vacations 2013 Europe & Britain Brochure launch.
Hosted by Cris David, president, Insight Vacations and Carla Brake, GTA/Northern Ontario sales manager, Insight Vacations, the evening featured dinner and a presentation on all that the brochure has to offer agents and their clients.
The new brochure showcases 42 of the 46 countries in geographical Europe, including the Eastern Mediterranean and Morocco as well as new tour extensions to the battlefields of World War I and Russia’s Gold Ring.
New itineraries include a regional tour of Portugal and a new Greece program. Insight has also introduced new Gold Tours including a nine-day Gaelic Treasures tour, an eight-day Celtic Legends tour and a nine-day Spanish Gold tour.
The tour operator has also introduced several new hotel and dining upgrades for Britain and Europe 2013 products.
“Every year we listen to our clients, we listen to you as agents and we take that feedback to heart. [We then] look at our itineraries and we look to improve our itineraries. We find out what can we do to enhance those, what can we do to make them better? And that’s what we’ve done with the products [for] this year,” said Brake.
Insight Vacations has added the TripAdvisor logo to its brochure this year.
“The main reason for that,” explained Brake, “is that we’re proud of our hotels. We put our program together with quality four- and five-star hotels. We have centrally located hotels in major cities, but we also have scenic locations too in some of the small towns and villages. So we’re not afraid for clients to go on TripAdvisor.” Sightseeing enhancements have been added for the product in 2013 in order to give clients the “must see and must dos” in destination. These sightseeing enhancements, such as a gondola ride in Venice, are included in the price of the tour. Brake reminded the agents to point out the great additional value sightseeing tours bring.
At the back of the brochure, Insight Vacations has included a brand new Fact File information section.
“It answers all those questions that clients sometimes ask you. [It provides] a little bit about Insight. It talks about touring versus cruising. It explains a little bit about sightseeing and a visit... It really breaks down what touring is all about.”
Brake concluded her presentation by thanking the travel agents for the important role they play in distributing the Insight Vacations product information to the clients.
“What it really comes down to is Insight, you – the travel agent, and the client. It’s that circle of friends as we like to call it. We’re here for you guys to support you in whatever way we can," said Brake.
She also reminded agents of Insight Vacations’ commission rates, which she said earns agents an average of $900 per booking.
“All I ask is that you suggest more Insight tours to your clients. You never really know who might want an Insight tour. You never know what a client is looking at or considering,” she said.
Prices for Insight Vacations have gone down in 2013, Brake announced to applause from the agents in attendance. Brake indicated that prices for the coming year have gone down by about 15 per cent.
“The opportunity we have to sell our products this year is very exciting,” she added.
When Canadian travellers book early they will receive savings of up to 10 per cent off of Insight’s Premium and Luxury Europe and Britain tours and also an additional 10 per cent off flights if clients pay in full before Dec. 27, 2012. Travellers can combine this offer with other discounts when applicable.
