On Tuesday Oct. 16, RBC Insurance presented a cheque for $4,000 to the Canadian Institute of Travel Counsellors (CITC). The funds were raised at the 29th Annual RBC Insurance/CITC Golf Tournament held at Copper Creek earlier this year.
“RBC Insurance is proud to present these funds to CITC. We believe in the value of continuing education in the travel industry and the need to keep skills development top-of-mind for all travel agencies and travel professionals,” said Mark Linton, vice-president of travel sales, RBC Insurance.
Proceeds raised at the tournament will help support CITC’s educational mandate and allow CITC the opportunity to continue providing programs.
“RBC Insurance’s ongoing support of CITC training programs is a result of a highly valued and respected 25 year travel partnership,” added Linton.
Increasingly, travellers are seeing the value in purchasing travel services from trained professionals. With this growing trend, there will also be a growing consumer demand to work with travel professionals who have mastered the skills identified in the national standards for the profession.
“Travellers need the full story when they purchase travel services,” added Linton. They not only want to receive information on the destination that they are travelling to, but they also want to ensure they’re getting the best travel insurance advice and coverage that meet their needs.”
“Thank you to all the staff at the Copper Creek Golf Club that went out of their way to ensure the golfers were treated like VIPs at registration, during the tournament and at the awards dinner that followed,” added Linton.
