From Sept. 27 – 30, 2012, Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island hosted a private retreat for 16 members of the Chairman’s Royal Club, which consists of the resort company’s most elite and dedicated travel agents.
Five Canadian members were in attendance including: Lois Barbour, Travel Time TPI, St. John’s, N.L.; Todd Goguen, Maritime Travel, Moncton, N.B.; Kim Hartlen, tripcentral.ca, Bedford, N.S.; Jen Jackson, Lakeview Travel, St. Catharines, Ont.; and Kathy Kennedy, One Love Honeymoons, Pointe Claire, Que.
All agents spent the long weekend enjoying the Luxury Included offerings at the Sandals Royal Bahamian, including the newly refurbished Balmoral Tower.
The highlight was the opportunity for Chairman’s Royal Club members to sit down with senior executives from Sandals Resorts International and Unique Vacations Inc., including Sandals Resorts chairman, Gordon “Butch” Stewart, for a round-table discussion. The agents had the chance to discuss a variety of topics affecting the travel industry from best sales and marketing practices, to feedback on current agent programs and how Sandals Resorts can continue to support and engage its frontline partners.
Throughout each year, Sandals Resorts rewards and educates its most loyal travel agents with training sessions, booking incentives and on-property FAM trips across Sandals Resorts, Beaches Resorts and Grand Pineapple Beach Resort locations in Jamaica, Saint Lucia, Antigua, The Bahamas and Turks & Caicos.
Specialized travel agent programming includes the Certified Sandals Specialist program, Preferred Sandals Agency program and the Chairman’s Royal Club.
