Last night, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau held an appreciation dinner for select travel industry professionals at Toronto’s King Edward Hotel.

Hotel representatives from The Angler’s Boutique Resort; Park Central Hotel; Marco Polo Beach Resort; CanyonRanch Hotel & Spa; Dream South Beach; Thompson; Viceroy; Red South Beach Hotel; Turnberry Isle and Mayfair Hotel & Spa, were at the networking event to talk to travel agents and media about their properties and current offers.

Linda Stilmann, senior director of sales, USA, Canada & emerging markets, cruise industry liaison, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, said that the dinner is part of the company’s annual Canadian sales mission.

“We’re here to support our number one international market, let everyone know about the new things that are going on in Miami and just bring our love from Miami up here,” Stilmann told TRAVELHotNews.com. “Winter is coming and we are open for business.”

Stilmann announced some of the new things coming to Miami including the metro rail at Miami International Airport that allows visitors to go directly from the airport into downtown Miami.

Also, starting in October, new ships will be coming into the city including Disney Cruise Line, Carnival Breeze, Norwegian Cruise Line and MSC Cruises.
