| TRAFALGAR RELEASES 2013 NORTH AMERICA BROCHURE | | 2013 program features itineraries focusing on local specialities and foods | |
Trafalgar has released a new North America brochure, focusing on foods specific to a particular destination. The new USA & Canada brochure features four itineraries: San Francisco & Wine Country Delights, Wonder & Flavors of the Golden State, Tastes & Sounds of the South, New York Zest & New England’s Best.
Some sample itineraries include:
Wonders & Flavors of The Golden State - the 14-day trip is for food-lovers looking to get a taste of California’s fresh produce and culinary treats. Starting in Los Angeles and finishing in San Francisco, guests will visit Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Monterey, Sequoia National Park, Bass Lake and Napa. Travellers will also stop in the Coachella Valley and have a Highlight Dinner in the mountains at the top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway.
In Santa Barbara, passengers will have a Be My Guest lunch with a local chef and author. After sightseeing in Monterey, visiting Sequoia and Yosemite National Parks, and sampling award-winning cheeses at the Hilmar Cheese Company, travellers will go to San Francisco and explore the Ferry Plaza Farmer’s Market. The trip wraps up with a wine tasting at a Napa winery and a Farewell Dinner aboard the Napa Valley Wine Train.
Tastes & Sounds of the South – the 10-day itinerary lets customers discover the foods that the region is famous for. Starting in Nashville and ending in New Orleans, guests visit Natchez, Graceland, Memphis and Lynchburg. In Lynchburg, guests take a guided tour of the Jack Daniels factory, and in Memphis, passengers take an excursion to see Elvis’ home in Graceland. The trip continues to Natchez at a Renaissance Revival mansion where travellers will have a ballroom dinner. Lastly, in New Orleans, guests will participate in a cooking class at the New Orleans School of Cooking and the trip wraps up with a Farewell Dinner at the Court of the Two Sisters.
New York Zest & New England’s Best – the 11-day itinerary begins in New York City and departs from Boston, making stops in Newport, Cape Cod, Nantucket, New Bedford, North Conway and Essex. Two nights are spent in New York, where customers will explore the flavours of the city and also join a food-themed Local Specialty tour. In New Bedford, guests will go on a guided bog tour at a cranberry farm, and in Vermont, they’ll spend a day trying Local Specialties at the family-owned Cabot Creamery known for cheeses. Travellers will also learn how to make apple cider and make a stop at Ben & Jerry’s. On the trip to Boston, clients stop at Moonlight Meadery where they’ll learn about making wine from honey and have lunch made from local New Hampshire ingredients.
Travellers that book a Trafalgar 2013 USA & Canada guided vacation before Aug. 31, 2012, will save 7.5 per cent. Travel must be between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2013.
