President & COO of ACTA David McCaig is moving to Toronto permanently, effective March 1

David McCaig, president & COO, ACTA
Vancouver-based ACTA President & COO David McCaig will soon be making his way East on a permanent basis.

McCaig’s wife, Judy Brooks, has been offered a position in Toronto with her current employer, Amica, which she has accepted so the two will be moving effective March 1.

McCaig said that he’s looking forward to being “closer to the day-to-day activities – in a way, I’m moving into the lion’s den of suppliers and wholesalers.”

“ACTA will benefit from this because I’ll be closer to the industry and the suppliers here,” he told, adding that his goal is to spend more time in Quebec as a result of the move.

The Vancouver office will continue to operate as it has in the past, where Marlene Brown, ACTA manager of member services in Canada, will hold down the fort.

"I think it will be great for ACTA from both an administrative and a member perspective," said Heather Craig-Peddie, director of operations, ACTA. "Geographically speaking, having Dave in central Canada will allow him increased accessibility for immediate attention to all regions of the country."

McCaig has been in Vancouver for 13-years so the move for him is “bitter-sweet.”
