Visit Florida launches new magazine, large-print map and limited-edition guidebooks; relaunches training program
The Visit Florida Magazine is now available for agents. The debut edition of the magazine provides information to educate you and your clients, including sections on beaches, family, culture and heritage, outdoors, arts, romance and regional spotlights.
In addition to the Visit Florida Magazine, you will be able to order, for a limited time, a series of Florida guides catering to different markets: Birding Florida, Camp Florida, Florida 2009 vacation guide in English or French, Florida Fishing Capital, Great Florida Getaways and Worth The Drive. Travel industry members may order their Florida collateral pieces online at hippoexpress.ca.
Agents can also become certified with the University of Visit Florida, which went live again on Jan. 25, 2010 after a brief hiatus. The specialist program for the state’s tourism industry can be accessed at universityofvisitflorida.com.
Also new, Visit Florida has released a new large print transportation map, designed to accommodate travellers who require a larger format. The map is 36 per cent larger than its regular-sized counterpart. The large print map provides larger and clearer destinations and highway numbers. The map also provides a list of toll roads, a directory of trails as well as a listing of recreational vehicle parks.
Florida welcomed 2.9 million Canadians in 2008. A total of 83.6 million global travellers visited the “Sunshine State” in 2008.
