AIR CANADA SIMPLIFIES FARES
Air Canada today announced that it is expanding its low, simplified fares offering consumers and travel professionals the best value in air fare to select sun destinations popular with leisure travelers. Air Canada's simplified fares are available for the first time for the following international flights: Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Antigua, St. Lucia, Trinidad and Venezuela. Air Canada plans to convert more international destinations to its simplified fare structure in the future.

McTeague ups the ante - Foreign Affairs supplies advice
The controversy over Canadians stranded in Cancun by Hurricane Wilma has whipped up sudden interest in registration for travel abroad. In a CTHotNews story Monday, Dan McTeague, the parliamentary secretary responsible for Canadians abroad, was reported as saying that: "Registration should be a pre-condition for any type of travel; it's as important as your passport.'' Our readers agreed with an 82 per cent positive response to the Survey of the Week question - Do you think that Canadians should be required to register with embassies or consulates when travelling abroad? However, the debate may be shifting gears. Yesterday McTeague upped the ante with his statement that it may be time to force tour organizers to register their passengers with Ottawa.

Grupo Posadas reported yesterday that its four hotels located in the state of Quintana Roo:

Aqua Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach, Fiesta Americana Condesa Cancún, Fiesta Americana Vacation Club Cancún and Fiesta Americana Cozumel Dive Resort, did not suffer structural damage. Only equipment, furnishings and decorations were effected and clean-up brigades of hotel staff are working to be ready for re-opening by December 15th of this year. Raddison Seven Seas (RSCC) reports that all vessels as well as its reservations department, field sales team, accounting and administrative support are operating as usual.
