ACTA ONTARIO REGIONAL COUNCIL SEEKS NOMINEES
In a letter to retail members, ACTA Ontario Regional Manager, Heather Craig-Peddie, announced that the ACTA Ontario Regional Council is seeking nominations for three elected Retail positions open on the Ontario Regional Council. Nominations must be received no later than December 9, 2005 and elections will be held January 20, 2006.

Passports Not Required
"Passports are not going to be required for travel between Canada and the United States," said Jim Phillips, President and CEO of the Canadian American Border Trade Alliance at the recent Travel Law Day in Toronto. Sounding a note of cautious optimism, Phillips debunked what he called the widely held myth that changes to U.S. law will require travellers crossing the border into the United States to carry a passport.

Air Canada Vacations has announced that, as it cannot guarantee full delivery of all hotel features and facilities, it has cancelled all flights and hotel packages to Cozumel for the winter 2005/06 season. Friday, the company provided the following update on resorts in Cancun and the Mayan Riviera affected by Hurricane Wilma.

QANTAS LAUNCHES VANCOUVER SERVICE
Qantas will begin operating seasonal services between Australia and Vancouver from June 14 to August 13, 2006. Executive General Manager of Qantas, Mr John Borghetti, said the new service would boost tourism in both Canada and Australia. Qantas will offer three services per-week between Sydney and Vancouver via San Francisco, operating three-class Boeing 747-400 aircraft fitted with Qantas' Skybed in Business Class.
