NEW BROCHURES FROM AIR CANADA VACATIONS
Air Canada Vacations' all-new 2005/06 Cruise and Las Vegas brochures are now available. The 80-page cruise brochure, renamed Seadreams, which has been totally revamped, features new product and a wide range of affordable cruises now classified by destination to simplify itinerary selection. The 20-page stand-alone Las Vegas brochure lists an assortment of 20 glitzy hotels-most located right on the Strip. Among the new product highlights are seven additional hotels including Aladdin, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, THEHotel at Mandaly Bay, Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, The Westin Casuarina Hotel & Spa, and the new Wynn Las Vegas (the only hotel on the Strip with its own golf course).

Transat acquires 20 Carlson Wagonlit travel agencies in France
Transat A.T. Inc. plans to acquire 20 Carlson Wagonlit travel agencies in France, the Montreal-baed tour operator said today. Transat said the acquisition is being made through Transat's French subsidiary Eurocharter SAS, which operates under the Club Voyages name. The acquisition includes the purchase of 20 agencies and the transfer of 41 employees to Transat, with no jobs lost. The transaction is set to close in November. "We will be very pleased to welcome into our network organizations that are strategic for us, and also men and women of proven ability from Carlson Wagonlit Travel," said Jean-Marc Eustache, the company's president and chief executive.

HONG KONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT NAMED WORLD'S BEST
For the 5th consecutive year, Hong Kong International Airport has been voted the world's Best Airport, in the largest customer survey of airport standards conducted annually by Skytrax. Singapore's Changi Airport takes the Silver Award as runner-up, in what proved to be an exciting and close finish to the Survey. These two airports achieved more than 130,000 votes each, with the final margin between 1st and 2nd position being less than 500 votes. The 2005 World Airport Awards are based on the annual Airport Survey conducted by Skytrax - between June 2004 and March 2005. The survey measures over 30 aspects of passenger satisfaction for airport product and service standards, evaluating the "typical" airport experience.

A recent study by online travel magazine Tango Diva found that women regard travel as an integral, oftentimes necessary part of their lives. Especially during times of change or transition (both positive and negative), women turn to travel. Yet the study also revealed that in order to take flight, most women require a travel trigger.
