The 12th annual World Travel Awards gala event was held in London's Royal Opera House last weekend and was attended by over two thousand tourism industry leaders from around the globe. Featured among this year's winners was Canada's Rocky Mountaineer, which won the award for World's Leading Travel Experience by Train. Representatives of the Canadian Tourism Commission, Tourism British Columbia and Tourism Alberta were also on hand for the festivities.

The Fiji Visitors Bureau Americas will invite more than 900 retail travel agents to events in 11 cities across Canada between January 16 and 20 as part of its 2006 Canadian Roadshow.
