| CHANGES TO U.S. AIRPORT SECURITY LIKELY TO INCREASE SECONDARY SCREENING |

New procedures to include more randomness and increased canine patrols, new lists of permitted and prohibited items announced Airline passengers will be able to take small scissors and screwdrivers aboard planes again starting December 22. However, officials say that under the new plan, more passengers will likely be subjected to secondary screening, and pat-downs will include arms and legs as well as the torso. More canine teams will patrol airports. Passengers also can expect more randomness at security gates so would-be terrorists won't know for sure what they might see.

| Air Canada Vacations has announced that the Golden Crown Paradise Spa in Cancun is now open. Also in Cancun, Le Blanc Spa & Resort will reopen January 31, 2006 and the Gran Melia Cancun on March 31, 2006. On the Mayan Riviera, Gran Porto Real Resort & Spa is now open while the Occidental Allegro Playacar will reopen January 31, 2006 and the Occidental Royal Hideaway Playacar will return to operation March 1, 2006.

52% of agents want additional information to sell travel insurance Agents were nearly evenly split in their response to last week's question: "Do you have sufficient information to do a good job of selling travel insurance?" A slight majority, 52%, answered that they do not have enough information. We invite representatives of the travel insurance sector to comment with their observations and suggestions. We are also keen to hear from travel agents with their specific suggestions on what additional information they feel they require to tap into this value-added revenue stream. | FAIRMONT OPPOSES ICAHN'S BID FOR CONTROL |

Fairmont Hotels & Resorts Inc. says it will oppose a "partial bid'" by U.S. financier Carl Icahn to take control of the luxury-hotel company by acquiring up to 51 per cent of its shares. Shortly after Icahn's announcement Friday, Fairmont CEO William Fatt issued a statement saying "the board of Fairmont would strongly oppose any partial bid, which is coercive by its very nature and does not treat all shareholders fairly and equally.
