WESTJET VACATIONS SET FOR SPRING TAKE-OFF

CTHotNews has learned from a reliable source that, over the next few months, WestJet will launch the wholesaler WestJet Vacations.  A start-up team, headed by Brenda Trocksdad, is currently developing the future wholesaler's operational, product and marketing strategies. CTHotNews was unable to get an official confirmation from WestJet's communications department. However, a staff memo has been sent to all WestJet employees naming WestJet Vacations launch team members.

PEARSON INTERNATIONAL TERMINAL 1 OPENS 10 NEW GATES
The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) announced today the opening of 10 new gates at Toronto Pearson International Airport's Terminal 1.

The gates mark the latest milestone in the ongoing redevelopment of Canada's busiest airport, and will be used primarily for international flights. As the second major component of the new terminal building to be unveiled, the new gates will bring an immediate reduction in the amount of passengers currently being bussed from Terminal 1 to their gates at the Infield Terminal. Prior to November 1st, all international passengers who checked in at Terminal 1 were bussed to the Infield Terminal as part of a planned temporary measure.

AIR CANADA UNION LEADERS OPPOSE CASH DISTRIBUTION
Two union leaders representing Air Canada's flight attendants and the bulk of its ground crews said Monday they'll fight a $300-million special cash distribution to shareholders being contemplated by the airline's parent. The two union leaders, who represent more than half of Air Canada's employees, said they are outraged that a cash payment for shareholders is being contemplated given the airline's underfunded pension plans.
DOUBLE-DECKERS FOR JERUSALEM
Egged and the Jerusalem City-Tour Company have launched a two-hour city tour on Jerusalem's new double-decker bus.
