| CANADA IS PASSPORT READY |

Canadians ready for U.S. passport requirement in June 2009, but Americans not so: Harper Canadian Press
 |
| Stephen Harper | | Canadians are well-prepared for a new rule in June requiring passports at land crossings into the United States, but Americans may not be quite so ready, Prime Minister Stephen Harper said Friday. Speaking within sight of the Blue Water Bridge, Canada's second-busiest commercial crossing with the U.S., Harper also said he did not expect the Americans to push the requirement date back any further, as they have done several times. ``We believe that in Canada, we are pretty much ready for that deadline,'' Harper said. ``We now have close to 75 per cent of adult Canadians holding passports. It's a huge number. It's been a big change over the past few years.''

AIR FRANCE-KLM TO BUY CZECH AIRLINES? Canadian Press Air France-KLM, Europe's largest airline, said today that it is interested in acquiring Czech Airlines, which is being sold by the Czech government. Air France-KLM said in a statement that it is submitting a non-binding expression of interest to have access to the airline's data. The Czech government is not expecting binding offers before June, Air France-KLM said. The Czech state wants to sell its entire 91.51 per cent stake in Czech Airlines, also called CSA, which is a member of the SkyTeam Alliance that includes Air France-KLM. Air France-KLM said the Czech airline's network is "highly complementary" to its own and would strengthen its position in central and eastern Europe. |

The aircraft crashed and burned at Holy Cross Cemetery, 150 metres short of Bert Mooney Airport, said Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Mike Fergus. An investigator with the National Transportation Safety Board offered few details at a press conference in Butte Sunday night. No cause of the crash was given. |
