 |
| D.T. Minich | | Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater announces budget cuts in Canada Due to budget concerns and the ongoing economic crisis in the United States, St. Petersburg/Clearwater has decided to cut Canadian trade and consumer representation, D.T. Minich, Executive Director, Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater, told TRAVELHotNews.com. TRAVELHotNews.com contacted Minich this morning who reported that Visit St. Petersburg/Clearwater does not yet have a definitive direction as to the extent of the budget cuts. On March 17, 2009, the Board of County Commissioners looks at all the recommendations, one being to no longer have a contract in Canada. “Because of the budget cuts we will have leisure staff that will have plenty of time to devote to the Canadian market,” confirmed Minich.
