ARTA Canada announced today that it has acquired the rights to manage and operate Canada's online travel agent discussion tool, the Travel Agent Forum. The Forum is divided into three discussion areas: The industry, the agent and the client. For instance: questions and comments about IATA, BSP Canada, provincial regulators, airlines, cruise lines, hotels, car rental firms, wholesalers, tour operators, and travel industry suppliers and more. | Eilat, Israel | | Israel has achieved another set of record-breaking visitation numbers for 2008, with 65,000 Canadians recorded visiting from January to November that year. That represented an increase of 21 per cent compared to the same period the previous year. Overall, more than 3 million international visitors came to Israel in 2008 – the highest number of any year since the independent State of Israel was founded in 1948. "This is the first time ever [that] more than 3 million tourists came to Israel in a single year," said Oded Grofman, Consul for Tourism, Director Israel Government Tourist Office - Canada, "and this underscores Israel's attractiveness to travelers of all nationalities, faiths, ethnic backgrounds and interests.
