This company sold mainly air only and packaged holidays. Travel agents and consumers that are already in possession of tickets/travel documents from these companies should not be affected by the closure and should receive their travel services. Delegation celebrates the launch of Spain's first-ever multimedia platform
As part of an initiative to launch a new multimedia concept for Canadian travellers, the Tourist Office of Spain, in conjunction with Living Doll Productions hosted an event yesterday at Toronto’s Babalúu Tapas Restaurant. The new project “BookSpain,” along with the domain BookSpain.ca was designed to accommodate the continuously changing travel industry and traveller. Hot of the press yesterday, BookSpain’s first issue was released to a small group of travel trade. The oversized, glossy magazine will be sent out to the masses today, to 30,000 consumer’s homes and travel trade offices. [Full text and pictures]


GO TRAVEL LEAPS BEFORE THEY LOOK

Go Travel Direct under investigation for selling fares before receiving Canadian Transportation Agency approvals
Finnair Oyj will partner with Go Travel
The Globe and Mail reported that Go Travel Direct, which recently announced the return of low-cost transatlantic flights from Canada with Finnair Oyj, has had to slow down its plans to ‘zoom’ ahead this summer. The Canadian Transportation Agency (CTA) is launching an investigation into how Go Travel Direct appears to be selling tickets to London and Paris before CTA approvals have been granted. CTA spokesperson Marc Comeau said that Finnair Oyj, the airline who is slated to partner with Go Travel Direct, currently has a licence to fly only between Canada and Finland, and that no application has been made to authorize flights to the new destinations. "Go Travel has halted offering and selling those new flights," Comeau said. Keep reading for full details.

Transat Holidays announces early booking increase; up to $400 per couple on packages offered in Italy-Spain-Greece 2009-2010 brochure 
Last November, Transat Holidays published its Italy-Spain-Greece 2009-2010 brochure showcasing the Mediterranean basin. The brochure then featured an early booking promotion with savings of up to $200 per couple on packages purchased by March 31, 2009. Transat Holidays recently announced it is increasing its promotion. Clients can now save up to $400 per couple when they purchase any of the packages offered in the Italy-Spain-Greece 2009-2010 brochure. This offer applies to new bookings made before March 31, 2009.
