The Canadian Tourism Commission announces strategy to enter India’s tourism market; forecasts show increase to Canada from India
The Canadian Tourism Commission is embarking on a strategy to enter the tourism market in India, a country they feel has a rapidly growing middle-class and outward-bound potential. The Honourable Tony Clement, Minister of Industry and Andrew Clark, the CTC's Vice President of Sales and Market Development were in Mumbai, India recently to launch the new campaign for priority international markets. "The Government of Canada forecasts an upcoming increase in tourism to Canada from India, and we invite you to visit our country," said Minister Clement.

| GLOBAL AIR FATALITIES DROP 56% |
|
Canadian Press More than 500 people died in plane accidents around the world last year, but the number of fatalities declined by 27 per cent, the International Air Transport Association said Thursday. There were 692 deaths in 2007. When taking into account the industry's expansion, the fatality rate decreased 56 per cent to 0.13 per million passengers, from 0.23 per million passengers a year earlier. The global accident rate, however, deteriorated slightly. There were 109 accidents, compared to 100 in 2007. The number of fatal accidents increased by three to 23 in 2008.

| JAL DECREASES INTERNATIONAL FUEL SURCHARGE |

Japan Airlines Group announces decrease in international fuel surcharge from April 1, 2009
Today the JAL Group requested approval from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), to decrease the fuel surcharge placed on all international passenger tickets issued for the three-month period starting April 1, 2009. For a ticket from Japan to Canada, Europe, Mexico, Middle East, Oceania or USA (excluding Hawaii), surcharges will go down from 22,000 yen to 3,500 yen. For complete details, visit jal.com.

Visit Florida announces Canadian travel to Florida increase of 14% overall in 2008
During the fourth quarter of 2008, overseas travel to Florida decreased by eight per cent, however overseas visitation for the 2008 calendar year increased 1.1 per cent. Canadian travel to Florida during the fourth quarter shows a 5.7 per cent decline, yet Canadian travel to Florida increased by 14 per cent overall in 2008. In total 2,832,300 Canadians visited Florida, in 2008, compared to 2,500,000 in 2007.
