New venues, new seminars make Addison big success in the west Janice Strong
The Fall Series of Addison Travel Trade Shows kicked off at the Hyatt Regency in Vancouver on Wednesday night, attracting close to 500 industry insiders to network with 120 exhibitors and continued in Abbotsford last night, where 125 agents, filled the aisles at the Abbotsford International Airport to meet with more than 40 exhibitors. “It’s a great start to the Fall series,” said Malcolm MacKillop, general manager of Addison Travel Marketing. “We have a couple of new venues, the Hyatt in Vancouver and the airport in Abbotsford, which worked out very well for us, and we’re pleased to welcome back the pre-show seminars, too. And, tonight in Victoria, the Addison Show is a great way to start the weekend.”

Belize Tourist Board comes to Canada for first time in 3 years, presents to agents in Montreal and Toronto Charmaine Pang

| Melecia Banks and Karina Cunil, Belize Tourist Board | | Yesterday evening at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Toronto, the Belize Tourist Board (BTB), in partnership with LATA, hosted an information session for the travel trade. Two nights ago, the BTB also made a presentation to the travel trade in Montreal. Several hotel partners also made the trek from Belize, including the Almond Beach Belize, Jaguar Reef Lodge and CHAA Creek. Tour operators, travel agents, the media and other travel partners were present for a short 20-minute presentation from the BTB and its hotel partners. TRAVELHotNews.com spent some one-on-one time with Marketing Officer Melecia Banks from the BTB, who said this is the first time in three years Belize has travelled to Canada to promote their destination. With the rising value of the Canadian dollar, Banks said that there has been a significant increase in demand and travel to her destination.

| Maurice Closs and Carlos Enrique Meyer | | As part of Argentina Week Sept. 3-7 Argentina National Institute for Tourism Promotion hosts presentation on the province of Misiones Lisa Raffaele Yesterday evening at Toronto’s Fairmont Royal York hotel the Argentina National Institute for Tourism Promotion hosted a presentation on Argentina and its Province of Misiones, as part of the Argentina Week festivities held in Niagara Falls from September 3 to 7. Both Carlos Enrique Meyer, State Secretary of Tourism for Argentina and Maurice Closs, Governor of Argentina's Misiones province were on hand to discuss the goal of Argentina Week and how they hope it will impact the Canadian market travelling to Argentina. Also in attendance was Niagara Parks Commission chairman Jim Williams.

Nagwa Korashy arrives from Cairo to head Egyptian Tourist Office of Canada
The Egyptian Tourist Office - Canada has a new director, Nagwa Korashy, who arrived directly from Cairo to head the organization, based in Montreal. She replaces Amr Elezabi who was appointed President of the ETA - the National Council of the Egyptian Tourism. Korashy previously held the post of director general of the International Department of Promotion of ETA. Her presence in Canada affirms Egypt’s commitment to English and French-speaking Canadians, and the tourist office’s mission to promote travel to their destination. Past roles Korashy has assumed include tourism specialist team leader of the ETA between 1985 and 1998; she also served as director of the Egyptian Tourist Office in Chicago. From 2003 to 2007, she returned to Egypt to serve as head of Tourism Arabic.
