Caribbean Travel Conference features a trade day to 'spread the love' with panels, workshops, discussions Charmaine Pang
 |
| Hugh Riley, Acting Secretary-General, CTO | | The second annual Caribbean Week in Canada has officially arrived. Yesterday's Caribbean Travel Conference, hosted at the Sutton Place Hotel in Toronto, provided trade attendees the opportunity to learn about the challenges and opportunities in the Caribbean travel market. Susan Webb, Canadian representative for the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO), introduced "my boss", Hugh Riley, Acting Secretary-General for the CTO and Co-Chair of the Caribbean Tourism Development Company (CTDC). Riley said Caribbean Week was only in its infancy and he hoped it would grow year after year, to the point that "there is so much happening you would have to be brain-dead not to know that the Caribbean is in town." The goal here, said Riley, is to "tease, excite, and seduce" Canadians to come to the Caribbean and to come for repeat visits.
