| Leanna Waite, winner of the Lucky Suitcase 2008 | | TRAVELHotNews.com and Sunquest would like to congratulate Leanna Waite of Thunder Country Travel in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Waite wins a trip to Punta Cana worth $3,400 at the Grand Bavaro Paradise, a 24-hour all-inclusive resort. She was incredulous upon hearing the news, saying, “I never win anything!” Waite had just finished with a file sending clients to the Grand Bavaro Paradise. She added, “we sell a ton of Punta Cana” from Thunder Bay, its popularity as a destination boosted by direct connections from Sunquest and Transat. The managing director of Thunder Country Travel, she and her husband purchased the business in October of 2005. The couple intended for the business to run on its own, but realized that travel is a hands-on industry. Waite left her job as a registered nurse to run the business full-time “and has been here ever since.”

| ITRAVEL2000 EXTENDS THE SNOW |
|
itravel2000 extends Let it Snow promotion till November 2
itravel2000's Let it Snow promotion delivered 75 per cent growth within the last two weeks. Travellers who book a qualifying vacation with itravel2000 by November 2, 2008 can get their trip for free if it snows more than five inches on New Year's Day at their weather station. Last year Quebecers got their vacations for free when it snowed 8.1 inches in Montreal while Ontario residents came within a few centimetres. People can book vacations departing between November 1 and April 30th that qualify for Let it Snow. "We wanted to finish big and we got really aggressive," said Jonathan Carroll. "Consumers responded and sales were phenomenal. Given the dire headlines, it wasn't surprising that our travel suppliers didn't want Let it Snow to end, so we all quickly agreed to extend it until November 2."
