| Charmaine Singh, President, Discover America Committee - Canada; author Storm Cunningham | | This morning, the Discover America - Canada committee hosted their last meeting for the year at the Albany Club in downtown Toronto. The Committee invited author Storm Cunningham to conduct a presentation about how U.S. destinations can revitalize their economies and ‘regrow’ their tourism offerings, even in times of economic downturn. Charmaine Singh and Chris Robinson from the Discover America -Canada committee introduced Cunningham. The presentation, titled from ‘Doom and Gloom to Zoom and Boom’, allowed Cunningham to showcase some of his ideas about how U.S. destinations (and, indeed, all tourism destinations) can create tourism-based wealth by restoring, renovating, renewing and regrowing communities.

| CRYSTAL CRUISES ADJUSTS FUEL POLICIES |
Crystal Cruises revises fuel surcharge policies quarterly; will reimburse guests if price drops below $65US/barrel
| Crystal Symphony | | Crystal Cruises has revised its 2009 fuel surcharge policy, in light of recent drops in crude oil prices. If crude oil is below $65 a barrel on a specific quarterly date, the line will reimburse its fuel surcharge to guests sailing in the following quarter. Given the volatility of oil prices, Crystal Cruises will continue to apply a $12 per guest per day fuel surcharge for Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity voyages departing in 2009. If the closing price is below $65 per barrel two weeks prior to the beginning of the upcoming calendar quarter, then Crystal will automatically refund the charged supplement, in the form of a Shipboard Credit, for cruises departing within that quarter. MSC Cruises announces the end to fuel surcharges beginning with April 2009 sailings
MSC Cruises has eliminated the fuel surcharge for all its cruises departing on or after April 1, 2009. The surcharge will not be levied on any new bookings for cruises sailing from that date on, and the accounts of guests already booked on these cruises will be adjusted to remove the surcharge from their balances. The line also has announced that it plans to drop the fuel surcharge for new bookings on sailings departing from January 1 through March 31, 2009, if fuel prices remain stable going into the new year. Guests booked on these cruises will receive a refund of the fuel surcharge in the form of an onboard credit if the price of West Texas Intermediate fuel is at or below $65 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange on December 18, 2008.

| CUBA SURPASSES 2 MILLION |
Cuba breaks record, achieving 2 million visitors ahead of schedule; sees total tourist numbers increase by 10.7 per cent, despite 3 hurricanes Charmaine Pang
Cuba has reason to celebrate this November. This month, the country welcomed the arrival of 2 million visitors to the island, the fifth year in a row the country has surpassed the 2 million mark ahead of previous years’ records. So far, over 2.34 million visitors have arrived this year. The speed at which Cuba welcomed its 2 millionth visitor is also remarkable, considering that the country was hit by three major hurricanes this season, and has managed to recover “in record time” to reopen resorts, airports and clean up tourist infrastructure. At the same time, tourist arrivals in 2008 have shown an increase of 10.7 per cent compared with the same period of time last year. The Tourist Board asserted that “everything is ready to have a successful winter season” this year.
