| TRAVELZEST OFFER SHELVED |
Economic climate ends discussion for Travelzest’s sale; buyer rumoured to have been TUI Travel PLC Charmaine Pang
In August, Travelzest, the UK-based parent company of Canada’s itravel2000 and Cruise Professionals, reported it was in “the early stages of discussions” with another company regarding its sale. As of this week, those talks have been withdrawn thanks to the continued turmoil of the global financial crisis. As late as November 4th, Travelzest announced that “discussions with the potential offeror were continuing and that completion of the due diligence process was anticipated in December 2008.” But things changed quickly. Travelzest made a statement, noting that it “has now been informed by the potential offeror that, as a consequence of the current uncertainties in financial markets, they have decided not to make an offer for the Company. Consequently, the Board announces that discussions in relation to the offer have been terminated.” Many in the industry believed that the potential buyer for Travelzest was TUI Travel PLC.

| ISRAEL’S ECO-FRIENDLY PARK |
Israel transforms former dump site into 2,000-acre green space, Ayalon Park; largest green project in its history
| Trails at Ayalon Park | | Israel has embarked on one of the world's most dramatic eco-friendly initiatives, transforming the 2,000-acre Hiriya garbage dump on the outskirts of Tel Aviv into a magnificent park and 24-hour recreational hotspot. Since Hiriya's establishment decades ago, the ecological blight existed as an eyesore on the edge of Tel Aviv. Fast forward to 2008, the soon-to-be-completed 'Ayalon Park' will stand as one of the world's largest metropolitan parks containing a vast number of trees, hiking and horseback riding trails, and tropical gardens. The 230-foot Hiriya Mountain, a waste-mound located within the park's center, has been transformed into an eco-friendly attraction boasting an inner oasis of tilting terraces, ridge groves, shaded foot paths and a two-layered canopy with benches and tables for rest or picnics.
