AIR CANADA COO TO RETIRE THIS MONTH Canadian Press Air Canada said Friday that chief operating officer Rob Reid is going to retire at the end of the month. Reid, who joined the airline in 1976 as a pilot, has been chief operating officer since May 2005. Air Canada said a successor will be named in the near future. |

EXPEDIA EXPANDS IN CANADA Canadian Press Online travel portal Expedia Inc. has agreed to buy Mississauga, Ont.-based corporate travel management Synergi Global Travel Management for an undisclosed amount and will rebrand its Expedia Corporate Travel division as Egencia. Expedia, based in Bellevue, Wash., said the acquisition will ``extend its Canadian presence and allow the company to expand on their extensive service and product offering to Canadian business travellers and companies who do business on a local and global scale.'' |

Graham and Nelson Gentiletti, Transat Tours’ president invited the media to their facilities in Montreal to visit their newly configured aircraft. Recently, Air Transat announced they would be offering more legroom to their clients. As of May 2008, all travellers who fly with Air Transat’s economy class will have noticed a new cabin configuration. The average space between each row has increased to 32 inches from 30 inches (81cm from 76cm). The new configuration will reduce the seating on the fleet’s Airbus 210s from 259 to 249 and on the A330s from 362 to 342.

| Carnival in Trinidad & Tobago | | Additional flight from Toronto to Port of Spain will launch July 11, 2008 to service demand as Air Canada cancels their route Caribbean Airlines has announced the introduction of an additional flight from Toronto to Port of Spain effective July 11th 2008. With this additional flight, Caribbean Airlines will increase its capacity to Port of Spain to 11x/week. In light of Air Canada’s published announcement of its route cancellation on the Toronto - Port of Spain route after August 31st 2008, Caribbean Airlines will ensure that additional capacity is introduced and maintained to meet market needs now and in the future. CEO of Caribbean Airlines, Phillip Saunders said in a statement, “For nationals of Trinidad and Tobago, we are once again demonstrating a unique capacity to put the needs of our customers first, even in light of the unprecedented challenges for the industry.”
