| LAST CHANCE TO WRITE CITC EXAM! |
|
Credit-based certification expires Dec. 31, 2008; sign up to take the exam now!
On December 31, 2008, CITC will retire the credit-based certification process for travel counsellors to earn their CTC designation. In January of 2007 a new process was established with more emphasis placed on demonstration of the skills in the workplace. National Certification Manager, Coralie Belman says, “Travel counsellors who have been sitting on the fence trying to decide if they want to complete certification using credits are running out of time to opt for this process. For most people I counsel – it is the fear of failure that is holding them back.” All travel counsellors wishing to complete certification using the credit based process have until the end of December 2008 to complete the requirements. The Advanced Exam will be offered on Saturday, October 25, 2008.

Meanwhile, hurricane Elida reached its peak intensity with winds of 168 km/h. Located 1,055 kilometres southwest of the tip of Baja California, the Category 2 hurricane was moving farther out to sea. In the Atlantic, tropical storm Bertha was headed out over open ocean and away from the U.S. mainland, after battering Bermuda.

BIG LOSSES AT DELTA, AA Canadian Press As Delta and American Airlines reported big second-quarter losses Wednesday, they signalled customers should expect more hits to their chequebooks.
