The Minster of civil aviation, culture and environment, Honourable Harold Lovell, was on hand to talk about Antigua and Barbuda's three year goal of 20,000 Canadian tourists. Although there was an increase of 4.34 per cent from 2006, raising the number of Canadian tourists to Antigua and Barbuda from 10,053 people to 10,489, Lovell told TRAVELHotNews that there is a lot more potential in the Canadian travel market.

| Terry Thornton, Senior VP of Marketing Planning, Carnival Cruise Lines | | Carnival Cruise Lines announces the promotion of Terry L. Thornton to Senior VP of Marketing Planning Terry L. Thornton has been promoted to senior vice president of marketing planning for Carnival Cruise Lines. In this capacity, Thornton will oversee the revenue management and strategic marketing departments for the brand. In addition, Thornton is responsible for overseeing ship deployment and itinerary planning for the cruise line's existing 22-ship fleet, in addition to vessels under construction, which currently includes three scheduled for delivery over the next three years. Thornton first joined Carnival in 1989 as a special projects manager in the marketing area and eventually rose to the position of vice president - marketing planning in 1992.

| Maurice Zarmati, President and CEO, Costa Cruise Lines - North America | | Maurice Zarmati has been named president & CEO of Costa Cruise Lines, North America Maurice Zarmati has been named president and CEO of Costa Cruise Lines - North America. Zarmati, who is currently vice president of sales for Carnival Cruise Lines, will assume his new role beginning March 31, 2008. Zarmati has been with Carnival Cruise Lines since 1972, leading one of the largest and most successful sales teams in North America. In his new role as president and CEO of Costa Cruise Lines - North America, Zarmati will report directly to Gianni Onorato, President of Costa Crociere, and will be responsible for all sales and marketing efforts for Costa's North and Central American regions. This includes sales development, marketing, revenue management, finance, human resources and passenger services.

The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies is accepting nominations for the upcoming 2008 TLAS Awards The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies is presently accepting nominations until March 28, 2008 of individuals and organizations for its upcoming 2008 ATLAS Awards. Award categories include: travel professional of the year, allied member of the year, travel agency of the year, ches chard award and travel personality of the year. Recognitions will be awarded on a regional basis and finalists will be recognized at regional events held in mid April in each region.

Air Canada, in cooperation with Jet Airways, increases service to India from three to four destinations With yesterday's launch of year-round daily codeshare service to Mumbai and Chennai in cooperation with Indian carrier Jet Airways, Air Canada has expanded its network to India from three to four destinations, and significantly increased access to India from across Canada. With the addition of Chennai, Air Canada now serves four destinations in India on a codeshare basis: Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
