Director of Tourist Board, Abdalah Castillo, acknowledges fuel shortage; says situation will return to normal on Sunday
This afternoon, TRAVELHotNews.com spoke to Abdalah Castillo, Director of the Ministry of Tourism for the Dominican Republic in Toronto, regarding the airplane fuel situation in the country.
He acknowledged there was an ongoing shortage of airplane fuel in the country, attributing it to a dispute between the U.S. and Venezuela, the largest supplier of oil to the Dominican Republic.
Castillo told TRAVELHotNews.com that most airlines departing the Dominican Republic were not experiencing delays or problems save for one airline. Castillo confirmed that schedules are expected to return to normal on Sunday, and that the oil tanker arrived yesterday afternoon.
