WESTJET SIGNS WITH MOKULELE

WestJet Airlines Ltd. said yesterday that it has signed a partnership with Mokulele Airlines, an inter-island airline based in Kona, Hawaii.
The Calgary-based airline said the deal will make it easier for travellers to connect to the islands served by Mokulele and provide Hawaiians greater access to WestJet's network.

Wholesale FIT supplier Travel Bound recently launched a new website for Canadian agents, gotravelbound.com , for booking more than 23,000 hotels/apartments/villas, private and shared transfers and sightseeing tours for FIT clients.   Agent commission on all Travel Bound bookings starts at 10 per cent. The new site, available in English, French and Spanish, features interactive city maps showing hotel and attraction locations, search filters and hotel deals, in-depth hotel descriptions, special offers and a group travel portal. AIRLINES FORECASTS $2.5B LOSS
The International Air Transport Association says all regions except U.S. expect large loss

The main international airlines association says the industry globally will lose $2.5 billion in 2009. The International Air Transport Association says all regions except the United States are expected to report larger losses next year than in 2008. IATA chief executive Giovanni Bisignani says "the outlook is bleak" but U.S. carriers will benefit from lower oil prices and cutbacks made this year to post a modest $300 million profit in 2009. He says the global airline industry faces the worst revenue environment in 50 years. IATA also says passenger traffic will decline for the first time since 2001, falling by three per cent compared with growth of two per cent this year. [Full text and pictures]

Skal Toronto club members donate 200 pounds of food to Daily Bread Food Bank, along with $1,000 in financial support
At a recent Toronto SKAL Club meeting held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, SKAL members donated more than 200 pounds of food to the Daily Bread Food Bank and financial support of more than $1,000. Even lucky winners of the monthly 50/50 draw, generously donated their winnings to the Daily Bread charity at the event. Norman Wigget, of the Daily Bread Food Bank was at the meeting encouraging SKAL and industry members to continue their support of the food bank year round, not just at the holiday season. SKAL Toronto will host their annual Christmas Gala on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Toronto Marriott Bloor Yorkville.  Please note that Limited space is still available.
