Christiane Théberge, former President and CEO of ACTA, the Association of Canadian Travel Agencies, has resigned and vacated her position at the organization as of last Friday, Aug. 22. TRAVELHotNews.com spoke with Théberge this afternoon who confirmed that she gave two weeks’ notice regarding her resignation. Théberge said that she and the organization had reached different viewpoints on ACTA’s future direction, which informed her final decision to leave. She was set to depart the organization this October for retirement, so her announcement comes earlier than expected. Théberge had been at the organization since 2003
Last week ACTA announced a reorganization, with David McCaig appointed to Chief Operating Officer and Moscou Côté appointed to Acting Chief Communications Officer. TRAVELHotNews.com also attempted to contact ACTA for this story but all representatives were unavailable for comment or in board meetings.
