This affects my business and I’m not pleased about it
My business isn’t affected; they’re regional U.S. carriers
These things happen in lean times; it’s nothing new

LAST CHANCE FOR ALITALIA?
Air France KLM board offers Alitalia unions another chance to accept its bid
Canadian Press
Air France-KLM gave Alitalia's unions a chance Monday to reconsider its withdrawn takeover bid, an offer that may be the ailing Italian carrier's best opportunity to escape bankruptcy. ``It is now up to Alitalia, its employees and unions representing staff to say how they view the future of their airline,'' Air France-KLM said in a statement after a board meeting at which it approved chairman Jean-Cyril Spinetta's reasons for breaking off talks last week. The bid is ``the only one that would enable Alitalia to return to profitable growth within a rapid time frame,'' the board said. Alitalia's future was thrown into doubt last week after Spinetta ended the takeover talks, saying demands from the airline's unions would prevent him from quickly making the company profitable again. EU CELLPHONE RULES
Questions and answers about the EU's new rules on in flight cell phones
Canadian Press

The European Union has cleared the way for airlines to allow cell phone calls during flights in European skies.
Some questions and answers: Q. How does the technology work?
A. Users of cell phones and other wireless devices using the European GSM technology with roaming capability will be able to make and receive calls, routed through a base station on the plane. The onboard network uses small masts that force all mobile phones to connect to its network, avoiding interference with the plane's navigation system. The onboard network covers the entire plane and sends calls through a satellite to networks on the ground. The same satellite link is already used by the captain and flight crew for communications. Read on for more questions answered. [Full text and pictures]
