| Colin and Stephen Hunter, founders of Sunwing | | Stephen and Colin Hunter win Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award for Hospitality & Tourism Stephen and Colin Hunter, founders of Sunwing Vacations and Sunwing Airlines, were the proud recipients last week of the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award in the Hospitality and Tourism category – Ontario. The awards, which are held internationally each year, recognize men and women around the world who create and sustain successful growing business ventures. Last year’s international winner was Guy Laliberté, founder of Cirque du Soleil. The Hunters were delighted to be named the winners and thanked their families and staff for all their help in making the award a reality.

Porter Airlines celebrates first anniversary today; expansion plans in the works
Porter Airlines marks a major milestone today with the anniversary of its inaugural flights. The airline began flying on October 23, 2006, with flights from its urban hub at Toronto City Centre Airport (TCCA) to Ottawa. Service to Montreal began in December 2006, followed by Halifax in June 2007. Porter’s growth continues with the extension of terminal facilities at TCCA and delivery of six new Bombardier Q400 aircraft in 2008, bringing the fleet total to 10. Flights to Mt. Tremblant, Que., begin in December 2007, and early next year Porter enters the U.S. market with flights to New York. Additional planned destinations include Boston, Chicago, Washington and Philadelphia.

| DEAL OR NO DEAL? TRANSAT IN TALKS WITH HOTELS |

| Transat's headquarters in downtown Montreal | | Travel firm Transat A.T. Inc. is talking to hotel companies about a possible deal in the $50-million to $60-million range that would fall in line with its strategy to expand in the tourism market. The Montreal-based tour operator did not identify the firms with which it is in discussions and noted that it has not yet signed any binding agreements. Transat stock has soared in recent months after it reported third-quarter earnings of $16.7 million that handily beat analyst estimates and a revenue jump of 21.4 per cent, helped by acquisitions made in 2006 that beefed up its presence in Europe. The company, now in year two of a three-year plan to gain market share and solidify its position as one of Canada's preeminent tour operators, has said it has nearly achieved its ambition to gain a 35 per cent share of the Ontario winter market.
