| AIR TRANSAT CELEBRATES 20 YEARS IN FLIGHT |
Inaugural flight took place on Nov. 14, 1987; celebrations will take place at Air Transat counters across Canada With files from Canadian Press
| Allen Graham, President/CEO, Air Transat | | Air Transat is celebrating 20 years as a Canadian charter airline on Wednesday, a survivor in an industry that is littered with fallen rivals. The first flight took place 20 years ago, taking about 360 passengers from Montreal to Acapulco on a Lockheed L-1011. The subsidiary of Transat A.T. has proven to be a rare Canadian aviation success story by sticking to what it knows best, said president and CEO Allen Graham. From November 12 to 18, check-in counters at the airline’s eight principal locations —Quebec City, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Paris and London— will take on a festive air, emblazoned with the 20-year anniversary colours. Passengers flying with Air Transat on November 14 will also have a chance to win various prizes drawn on board.
