Sandals hosted a large group of travel agents, suppliers and the media yesterday to a lunch at the remarkable Supper Club in the heart of New York's Theatre and Hotel district. The Toronto contingent was accompanied by Michael Smith, reservations manager of Unique Vacations. Gary Sandler, director of sales and marketing, Canada for Unique Vacations met the group in New York. Gordon 'Butch' Stewart welcomed the guests. Yesterday, January 30, 2007, all Air Canada, Air Canada Jazz and Air Canada Vacations U.S. trans-border flights passengers moved over to Terminal 1 at Toronto Pearson Airport. The opening of Pier F at Terminal 1, means that, for the first time in many years, all Air Canada's operations will be consolidated under one roof at its main hub.   Domestic, international, and now US operations will be in a single terminal and the carrier will no longer operate from Terminal 2.

Italian prime minister Romano Prodi's office has announced that 11 organizations have expressed an interest in bidding for a stake in Alitalia. The Italian government and Merrill Lynch, acting as its advisor, will examine the 11 'expressions of interest' over the new few days before deciding which will be chosen to proceed to the next stage.
