| The Las Vegas delegation and the VoX International team | | Yesterday evening at Rain restaurant in downtown Toronto, the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors' Authority (LVCVA) celebrated the official opening of their office in Canada. VoX International has been chosen to represent the LVCVA throughout Canada. Approximately 150 guests attended the function, representing all facets of the travel industry including tour operators, travel agents, meetings & incentive, media and government. Several members of the LVCVA flew up from Las Vegas for the evening, along with some hotel partners. Susan Webb, president of VoX International, introduced the members of her team who will be working on the Las Vegas account, saying "We are your go-to place for Las Vegas information in Canada."

There are tiny villages nestled amongst coconut and mango plantations. The local people are very welcoming, and the pace is decidedly relaxed, due in no small part to the absence of cars. Donkey and the traditional sailing dhow remain the main forms of transportation.

| UNIGLOBE Geo's new website, geo.ca | | UNIGLOBE Geo Travel, which started in Edmonton with a single employee in 1984, is about to grow to 15 locations in a move that will result in one of the largest full-service travel agencies in Western Canada, representing more than $100 million in annual sales and employing more than 130 people. Effective Dec. 1, 14 UNIGLOBE franchises throughout Alberta and B.C. will be changing their names to UNIGLOBE Geo Travel. A new website, geo.ca, has also been launched. "The past 12 months have been very exciting," says UNIGLOBE Geo franchise owner William Hsu. "We've partnered with several other top-performing UNIGLOBE franchise offices, thus allowing us the opportunity to have a stronger presence in Western Canada."

Network now offers competitive net fares to the UAE on Emirates Airlines
Network has announced its new association with Emirates Airlines and is now offering competitive net fares to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and points beyond. In addition to Emirates, Network's other airline partners that service this area include Etihad, British Airways, KLM, Air France, Lufthansa, Austrian, Alitalia, Olympic, Cathay Pacific and Singapore Airlines. "Our business to the Gulf region has been growing steadily and in the coming year we will be making a concerted effort to make Network a major distributor of quality air product to this area," said Chris Rivers, Vice President of Network. | Catamount Trail - the longest cross-country ski trail in North America | | Quebec to Massachusetts cross-country ski trail is completed after 25 years Canadian Press Nearly 25 years after three friends laid the groundwork for it by skiing the length of Vermont, the 483-kilometre Catamount Trail - a backcountry ski trail extending from Massachusetts to Canada - is complete. Volunteers cleared and marked the final 7.25-kilometre leg running through the Green Mountain National Forest in southern Vermont in October. The trail, which starts on the Massachusetts border in Readsboro, runs through the Green Mountains, traversing a variety of terrain, from the groomed trails of cross- country ski centres to remote mountain passes. The trail ends at the Canadian border, in North Troy, Vt., near Highwater, Que.
