Japan Airlines will codeshare on flights operated by China Eastern Airlines between Tokyo Narita and Nanjing. On Dec. 20, China Eastern Airlines will begin twice-weekly service between the two cities. Tickets are now on sale.

WestJet adds two new destinations in Dominican Republic; conducts Puerto Plata fam trip for trade, consumers from Dec. 7-12

The Puerto Plata delegation including WestJet, WestJet Vacations, WestJet partners, the Dominican Republic Tourism Board, travel agents and media at Ocean World Bravissimo Theatre.
WestJet is expanding their international network by launching two new flights to the Dominican Republic, hitting the sunspots of Puerto Plata and Punta Cana. The airline kicked off last week's new non-stop service to Puerto Plata by conducting a fam trip for a handful travel agents and the media from Dec. 7-12. Read on for the details. FRANCE-CANADA TRAVEL MARKET STRENGTHENED
Air Canada and Corsairfly announce commercial partnership; AC to be preferred carrier in France's largest travel agency network
Air Canada and Corsairfly today announced a commercial partnership that will strategically strengthen their respective positions in the travel market between France and Canada. The commercial partnership provides for reciprocal codesharing on each carrier's France-Canada flights, streamlined access to Air Canada's network for Corsairfly customers, and enhanced presence in the French market for Air Canada as a preferred carrier through the Nouvelles Frontières Group that owns France's largest travel agency network. The DiscoverAmerica Committee-Canada annually recognizes the efforts of Canadian tour operators in providing the best programs to the USA from Canada.  The Committee is encouraging all Canadian Tour Operators who promote US destinations to review the award categories and criteria (below) and see if their company qualifies to enter.  Information on eligibility, submissions and deadlines are as follows. Tour operator launches book drive for Tucker Clarke Primary School in St. Kitts; collects over 125 books
As part of an ongoing initiative to give back to the destinations in which they operate into, Signature Vacations has wrapped up a Book Drive for the Tucker Clarke Primary School in St. Kitts.  Gathering gently used books from its employees, the tour operator finished with a collection of over 125 books for children in kindergarten through to grade eight.  The books were given to the St. Kitts Tourist Authority, who delivered to them to the eager children of Tucker Clarke.

HOLIDAY CRUNCH AT NY-AREA AIRPORTS
Flights at New York area airports restricted to ease travel delays

Fewer flights will be allowed in and out of New York City's airports at the busiest times as part of a U.S. administration plan announced Wednesday to help reduce delays at airports across the United States. To speed holiday travel, the government plans to open military airspace to commercial traffic on the east and west coasts. U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary Peters announced the changes at an air traffic command centre in Virginia after months of closed-door wrangling with the airlines over how to curb air traffic around New York's three major airports: John F. UA SEES MAINLINE UNIT REVENUE UP
