| WestJet, aviation and St. Lucia tourism officials at the inaugural flight ceremony | | WestJet launched service to the southern Caribbean with its inaugural flight to St Lucia on Sunday December 16th. Passengers arriving at the gate at Toronto's Pearson International airport were treated to festivities and gift bags to celebrate the inaugural flight and introduction of new seasonal non-stop service from Toronto to St. Lucia. "We are pleased that WestJet has chosen St. Lucia as its first destination in the Southern Caribbean. A partnership with WestJet is an important component of St. Lucia's continuing commitment to increasing tourism from the Canadian market," said Senator Allen Chastanet, St. Lucia's Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation. | Doo Doo the Clown, the Grinch and Skyservice staff get ready for Santa's appearance | | Yesterday afternoon at Toronto's Pearson International Airport, tour operator Sunquest and longtime partner Skyservice teamed up with the Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation Canada to provide an afternoon of games, gifts and fun to seriously ill children and their families. About 40 families participated in the event. In the afternoon, children and their families enjoyed sweet treats and refreshments in the Skyservice lounge. Magicians, a falcon handler, the Grinch, clowns, face painters and other characters mingled with children and families, having fun and spreading joy. Continue to see more photos from the event.

| U.S. LAWMAKERS WANT TO DELAY PASSPORT REQUIREMENT |

U.S. legislators renew push to delay passports at Canadian border Canadian Press
American legislators are renewing their push to delay requiring passports at the Canada-U.S. border until June 2009 by slipping the measure into a critical spending bill. But the Homeland Security Department says it's determined to move forward with the new security requirement next summer as planned, regardless of how Congress votes. Starting Jan. 31, 2008, the United States will require all Canadians to provide some proof of citizenship, like a birth certificate. Adults will also need a government-issued photo ID. Canada has long supported a delay to ensure the security system is properly in place, avoiding nightmarish traffic lineups and long wait times for passports.

Winter storm hits N.L., delays and cancellations in Montreal, Halifax Canadian Press
A blast of wintry weather that held parts of Central and Eastern Canada in its grip on the weekend continued to wreak havoc Monday, making roads treacherous, knocking out power for thousands and forcing the cancellation of flights and school classes. The massive storm, which dumped heavy snow on Quebec and record amounts in southern Ontario, continued to lash Newfoundland and Labrador, where up to 25 centimetres was predicted in some areas. The messy mixture of snow and rain also caused problems for holiday travellers. Dozens of flights in and out of Halifax's airport were cancelled or delayed since Sunday, stranding thousands of passengers. Similar problems were reported at Montreal's Pierre Elliott Trudeau International.

| Fam participants in front of the Ming Tombs, outside Beijing | | Royal Scenic Holidays recently hosted an eight-day educational fam trip to China on Cathay Pacific and Dragonair for CAS (Certified Asia Specialist) participants from across Canada. The trip included visits to Beijing, Xian and a short day excursion during the connection in Hong Kong. In Xian the group visited the monumental Terracotta warriors; in Beijing, they embarked on the Great Wall and many other famous attractions. The group also caught an early pre-Olympic glimpse of the new National Stadium "Bird's Nest" & the Aquatic Centre "Water Cube".

| Winner Nadine Davies from McTavish Travel, Oakville ON | | Nadine Davies, of McTavish Travel in Oakville is the third winner in the 2007/2008 edition of the "Conquest/Mazda Key To Freedom" promotion, which is billed as the largest promotion ever in the Canadian travel industry. Since May of 2007, Conquest has given away 13 Mazda automobiles: 7 to Canadian travel agents and 6 to consumers. Throughout the winter season, Conquest will continue the promotion, giving away another 3 Mazdas to travel agents and 2 to consumers for a final total of 18 cars over a one-year period. The remaining cars slated for travel agents will be drawn in January, February and March of 2008 while the consumer giveaways will be done in December and Spring 2008.
