NO TRANSIT LINK
Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities Lawrence Canon says it's an embarrassment that Canada's busiest airport still isn't linked to Toronto's downtown core by public transit. Ontario's Transportation Minister Jim Bradley says he's looking seriously at building the rail link, but it hasn't been the biggest priority for the province. Bradley says if Cannon wants a transit link to the Pearson International Airport so badly he should come back to Toronto with a cheque for the province.

Sandals Resorts hosts "mega-fam" to St. Lucia; 200 agents, tour operators, consumers and media participate

Last month, Sandals resorts hosted a "mega-fam" to the Eastern Caribbean island of St. Lucia to experience the romantic couples-only resorts. Approximately 200 travel agents from across Canada, tour operators, media and consumers (on a 'Test-Drive your Honeymoon' program) participated. Gary Sadler, vice president of sales Unique Vacations, the company that represents Sandals and Beaches resorts in Canada, welcomed the participants to St. Lucia, expressing his appreciation that people "from the whole spectrum of the travel industry" were partaking in the fam trip. Kumuka Worldwide is featuring a nine-day 'Chinese Kites, Warriors & Pandas' family tour. WestJet announces Inbound Canada Sales Manager
WestJet announced the restructuring of its Quebec sales team, naming Louis Gosselin to the newly created position of Sales Manager, Inbound Canada. WestJet has created this permanent sales position to manage Inbound Tour Operators, Tourism Organizations along with net programs for Canadian tour operators and consolidators. Louis Gosselin was previously sales manager for Quebec and Ottawa and will now focus his efforts on building relationships with inbound and Canadian tour operators, specialty consolidators and various tourism organizations. "On behalf of the WestJet Sales team, I am pleased to announce Louis to the role of Inbound Canada Sales Manager," said Duncan Bureau, Vice-President Sales for WestJet. Universal Orlando Resort announces the return of Grinchmas and Macy's Holiday Parade
From December 7 through January 1, holiday celebrations are resort-wide across Universal Studios and Universal's Islands of Adventure, Universal CityWalk and all three on-site Loews hotels. Back for this year's festivities include the return of Grinchmas to Islands of Adventure. The celebration will include an all-new "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" show in honor of the 50th anniversary of the book. NO MORE BOSTON FLIGHTS
Big Sky Airlines
All flights from Fredericton to Boston will be cancelled after Jan. 7
There will be no more direct flights from Fredericton to Boston after Jan. 7. David Innes, CEO of the Greater Fredericton Airport Authority, says Big Sky Airlines, which provides the service, has been experiencing operational and economic difficulties. Innes says anyone who bought tickets for travel on the Delta connector after that date should contact their travel agent or Delta to make other arrangements. Innes says they will try to find an alternate service provider to the U-S.
