UK airports expected to make an announcement next week
As a result of a foiled terrorist plot to bomb airliners last month, stringent security measures were enforced at British airports and carriers. Included were a government enforced a ban on liquids in hand luggage and limits on the size of carry-on bags. However, a meeting of government and airline industry officials is set for Monday, and a Department for Transport (DfT) spokesman said an announcement on revised rules was likely later in the week.

| Survey finds Business travellers will tell all |

Business travelers want things clear and simple. Eighty three percent of the nearly 800 U.S. business travelers surveyed by global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company, Accenture, said the most important feature an online travel site can provide is the ability to see the total price, including taxes and fees, at the time of purchase. According to the survey, more than half (58%) said being able to redeem points or miles for travel was an important feature of a travel site and 56 % said they want to see images of hotel accommodations online- not just read descriptions of them.

| Vacation rental firm unveils tools to assist agent bookings |

20% commission on bookings by October 15
Vacation Rentals 4 Agents, a division of the RCI Global Vacation Network, has launched a dedicated travel industry Web site. The company, a distributor of non-hotel rental accommodations, has announced that it will pay agents an incentive commission rate of 20% on all bookings made by October 15 for travel by December 15. Commissions are ordinarily 12%.
