| Tom Dalrymple | FlyGlobespan will announce this morning that it will begin operations from Hamilton in 2007. The UK carrier will fly daily flights from London Stansted, Glasgow and Manchester to the John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport. Additionally there will be weekly flights to Hamilton from Dublin, Shannon, Edinburgh, Newcastle, Birmingham, Liverpool and Doncaster. flyGlobespan will no longer operate out of Toronto. "The benefits of utilizing Hamilton as a gateway, over Toronto's Pearson International, will be there for all to see." Said Bill Robson, business travel director of FlyGlobespan.

According to a new report from the US Travel and Tourism Advisory Board, the country needs to improve its image, which is at "an all-time low in many parts of the world". The board, whose members include Walt Disney chairman Jay Rasulo, Marriott International's chairman and chief executive, Bill Marriott, and American Express vice chairman, Jonathan Linen, also called for an improvement in the 'efficiency and friendliness' by which the US processes inbound international travellers.

| WestJet and Jazz passenger totals rise in August |

Air Canada numbers down WestJet has reported a 19% increase in August passenger traffic compared with a year earlier, reflecting its increased capacity, while rivals Air Canada and subsidiary Jazz increased their passenger numbers by 2.%. Air Canada saw revenue passenger miles slip 0.2%, with declines of 3.2 % on domestic flights and 7.3 % on transatlantic routes. But Air Canada's revenue passenger miles on flights between Canada and the United States were up 17.8 %, and Pacific routes gained 2%.
