| Peter Long, First Choice | | The rumours about First Choice were churning in the UK over the weekend and the company has confirmed that the Board has been reviewing how it might maximise the potential of the mainstream tour operating business. A statement issued by the company said the Board, "is considering a range of alternatives in this market and discussions with a number of parties are at a preliminary stage. However, there can be no certainty that any transaction will be forthcoming." That announcement was followed by a statement from MyTravel Group plc who confirmed that, following an approach it made to First choice Holidays, it is now in discussions regarding the possible acquisition of First Choice's mainstream business and certain related operations.

| Sean Durfy | | WestJet commented today on Blue Sky: Canada's New International Air Policy report that was issued by Transport Minister Lawrence Cannon. Sean Durfy, WestJet president stated, "The federal government's pledge to establish further bilateral air agreements with other countries is encouraging and will provide consumers with more choice and provide air carriers with more market opportunities."Durfy noted that in the report the government has indicated that Canadian carriers be able to compete with a 'reasonably level playing field'. WestJet believes that the definition of what constitutes 'reasonable' must be defined and that two fundamental issues be dealt with, specifically that Canadian carriers get fair access to foreign airport terminal facilities in future bilateral agreements and the issue of uncompetitive taxes and fees be addressed.
