| Air Canada Vacations teams up with Toronto Fire Services |

| Nino Montagnese, Colonel Rafoso, Sean Pearce | | Air Canada Vacations and the Toronto Fire Services worked together to deliver a donation of fire fighting equipment and gear to the Cuba National Fire Unit. Air Canada Vacations facilitated free shipment of the goods and provided roundtrip airfare for a team of Toronto Fire Services specialists to facilitate the donation and on-site training in Varadero, Cuba. Additional sponsorship was provided by Air Canada Cargo, and Sandals Royal Hicacos Resort & Spa. The $100,000 donation of decommissioned firefighting goods consisted of a set of combi cutters, hydraulic pump, ladders, 100 sets of bunker gear (consisting of jackets and pants) as well as boots and gloves all of which were presented by Toronto Fire Services and Air Canada Vacations to the Cuba National Fire Unit at a special ceremony held at Sandals Royal Hicacos Resort & Spa in Varadero.

| Oakville agent only person in Canada to achieve certification |

One of 16 in the world Ruth Guiry of Oakville, Ontario, an associate of Travel Professionals International (TPI), has been accredited by the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) as an Elite Cruise Counsellor Scholar (ECCS). Guiry is the only person in Canada to hold the highly regarded certification, and one of only sixteen ECCS travel agents in the World, according to CLIA statistics. "CLIA is very proud of Ruth's achievement, and congratulates her on her exemplary display of commitment to the cruise industry and her cruise clients," said Tom Cogan, CLIA's Director of Training.

| TICO investigation gets results |

Travel agent convicted
After an investigation conducted by the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO), Austin Shaw has plead guilty to committing an offence under the Travel Industry Act. On December 18, Shaw plead guilty to one count of acting or holding himself out as being available to act as a travel agent by making bookings and accepting consumer monies without first being registered to act as an agent contrary to Section 3(1) of the Travel Industry Act. The plea was heard at the Provincial Offences Court in Barrie. Shaw received a suspended sentence and was ordered to a two year period of probation during which he is to serve 160 hours of community service and report to a probation officer.

Awarded by Travel Weekly, a leading travel industry publication, to those individuals "who have profoundly changed, for the better, not only their own company, but also the broader industry in which they work", the presentation was made by editor-in-chief Arnie Weissmann at the publication's annual "Readers Choice Awards" held in New York City last week. Weissmann said, "Bob Dickinson is the consummate marketer and he has had a huge impact on the industry. His influence is not limited to Carnival or even cruising. He has influenced how all leisure travel is marketed and sold in the U.S."
