The associations label ATS as "a truly monolithic and disturbing data-mining program." The letter charges that while ATS allows for the aggregation of personal information on business travellers," it forbids those same travellers from accessing and correcting inaccuracies, permits the sharing of information with foreign governments and third parties and retains travellers' personal information for 40 years."
