Governor's Conference on Tourism reflects State's attitude
 |
| Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt | | "All About You" is the theme of the 2006 Governor's Conference on Tourism that opened. December 11 at the Silver Legacy Resort Casino in downtown Reno. The conference is playing host to several hundred tourism industry delegates and features provocative speakers and special performances by famed country singer Lee Greenwood. "This year's conference will zero in on the individual and the tactics we all need for success; that's why it's 'All About You." Lt. Gov. Lorraine Hunt said. "We think the delegates will find the programme relevant to their own businesses." Hunt chairs the Nevada Commission on Tourism (NCOT), which produces the annual conference, Nevada's premier state wide tourism industry gathering.

| One hundred cruises in 15 years |
|
Now that's a cruise passenger!
Alzoria Jones stepped into the "Fun Ship" record books on Friday when she boarded Carnival Cruise Lines' Fascination. The voyage marked her 100th Carnival cruise. To put her achievement in perspective, Jones has sailed on 100 cruises since 1991, roughly a cruise every other month for 15 years. Jones took her first Carnival cruise aboard the Fantasy and since then has cruised multiple times each year. She says she doesn't have a favorite port, but the warm weather of the Caribbean keeps her coming back to the region time and again. She also shows no favoritism toward a specific Carnival ship and has sailed on many, including the newest, Carnival Liberty.
