| Errol Francis and Robbie Goldberg | | In a surprise announcement yesterday, The Mark Travel Holdings Co., a subsidiary of Conquest Holdings, Inc., a subsidiary of The Mark Travel Corporation, which is headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, said it had finalized an agreement with the other shareholder, controlled by Robbie Goldberg Holdings Ltd., of Conquest Vacations Company, to sell its minority ownership interest in the organization. The sale was effective as of November 30, 2006. Conquest COO Errol Francis, told TRAVELHotNews.com that the reason for the change of ownership was because "Mark has decided it wants to focus on its wholly owned companies and is divesting itself of its minority holdings."

| Sabre sold for US $4.3 billion |

Pioneer electronic ticketing company sold Sabre Holdings has apparently agreed to be sold for about US $4.3 billion to Silver Lake Partners and the Texas Pacific Group, reported the New York Times today. The deal is expected to be announced today.Following closely on the Travelport purchase of Worldspan last week and the acquisition of Travelport by the Blackstone Group earlier this year, this deal means that the the three largest US travel reservation companies are now owned by private equity companies. In an industry under ever increasing pressure as more consumers turn directly to airline and hotel Web sites, the reservation business continues to produces steady revenue. Though consumers are steadily booking more trips directly through airline and hotel Web sites, those web sites still require reservations systems provided by travel reservations companies.

Susected Norovirus outbreak
The Freedom of the Seas was scheduled to depart Miami on December 10 for a seven-day Caribbean cruise. After a second suspected outbreak of norovirus in two weeks, Royal Caribbean has delayed the departure two days and the ship will now depart on December 12 for a modified, five-day itinerary. Royal Caribbean said the two days are required to conduct enhanced cleaning on the vessel, at the recommendation of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

| Carnival confirms TUI talks |

Cagey about what it is discussing Carnival has confirmed that is in talks with TUI AG, although it did not specify the content of the meetings.Carnival said that "the nature of the discussions has been incorrectly reported by various German media as they do not involve exclusive distribution of any of Carnival's cruise products."It said that its AIDA brand, which serves the German market, "is completely satisfied with its present distribution model and appreciates the support that it receives from its travel agent partners.
