A group of 12 die-hard Canadian adventure travellers, led by Priyantha Amarasinghe, Director of Tour Product at Escapades has just returned from a successful trekking expedition to the Indian Ocean island of Sri Lanka. The group visited Sri Lanka as part of a challenge trek to raise funds for Ontario Village & People In Need (PIN) Foundation, a Canadian-funded humanitarian project for tsunami victims.

SILVERSEA WELCOMES EGYPTOLOGIST ZAHI HAWASS AS WORLD CRUISE 2007 ENRICHMENT LECTURER
Renowned Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass is set to join Silversea's World Cruise 2007 as an enrichment lecturer. Hawass is Egypt's secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities and the man most responsible for bringing the King Tut exhibition to the United States this year. He is slated to host a series of presentations aboard Silver Shadow as the ship journeys from Dubai to Alexandria from April 12 to 27, 2007.

CELEBRITY CRUISES LEAPS TOWARD NEW CENTURY
Celebrity Cruises has signed with Fincantieri in Palermo, Italy, to handle the significant revitalization of its 77,713-ton Century cruise ship in 2006. The approximately $55-million makeover designed to incorporate on Century a variety of Celebrity's most popular Millennium-class attributes marks the line's most extensive refurbishment to-date, and the first time the company has worked directly with Fincantieri. The Century project will be the largest cruise ship modification to-date for the Palermo yard.
