Air Canada Vacations recently hosted its first-ever familiarization trip to Asia. A group of 13 travel agents from across Canada accompanied by Air Canada Vacations' Lorna Gaweco, visited Thailand between October 26 and November 4, 2005 touring both Bangkok and Phuket. The ten-day trip featured an elephant trek in the rainforest, sea canoe on Pha Nga Bay River in Phuket, tour of the Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha and tail speedboat along Chao Phraya River and Klongs (canals) of Thonburi.

Travel agents credited with increased 2005 revenues and 30% rise in advance bookings for 2006
In a letter to travel agents across Canada from David Morris, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marilyn Conroy, Vice President, Sales, Silversea announced that membership at the Associate and Silver Society levels of its travel agent reward program has increased this year by more than 40 per cent. According to the report, agents have generated 70 per cent more revenue since the program's launch in 2004.
