PORT OF MIAMI REOPENS TO CRUISE SHIPS AFTER PLANE CRASH
Itinerary changes for Carnival Imagination and Fascination; Royal Caribbean Majesty route unchanged
Following the Chalks Ocean Airways plane crash after takeoff from Miami's Watson Island en route to Bimini in the Bahamas that killed 18 passengers and two pilots on December 19, Miami's Government Cut channel was closed to traffic including cruise ships. Three cruise ships, Carnival Cruise Lines' Imagination and Fascination, as well as Royal Caribbean's Majesty, carrying nearly 10,000 passengers were forced to remain in Miami more than 24 hours after their originally-scheduled departures as the channel remained closed.

AIR TRANSAT PILOTS REACH AGREEMENT WITH COMPANY
Air Transat's pilot group, represented by the
Air Line Pilots Association, International (ALPA), has reached a tentative agreement with the company that will improve working conditions and pay the pilots a competitive salary. The pilot group, led by Master Executive Council (MEC) Chair Martin Gauthier, engaged in 13 negotiating sessions with the company, beginning in September 2005. The new contract replaces an agreement that expired in November 2005. It is the third ALPA-produced contract for the pilot group.

October saw a 3.1 per cent increase in stopover arrivals and an impressive 10.9 per cent increase in cruise visitors over October last year.

New daily round-trip service
United Airlines today announced new daily roundtrip service between its Denver hub and Toronto - dubbed the "city of imagination" - provided by explus(SM), the United Express(R) regional jet service offering first-class seating.  Service begins June 12, 2006. "We are pleased to offer customers traveling between Denver and Toronto this new service," says Sean Donohue, vice president-Operational Services, United Express and Ted.  "Our explus service gives us the opportunity to respond to customer demand for a better regional jet service, while differentiating United's commitment to provide quality and comfort to our customers."
