| PORTER PREVIEWS NEW TERMINAL |

Porter Airlines previews new Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport terminal; built at cost of $50M; will open March 7 Photos and text by Charmaine Pang

John Baird, Don Carty, Monty Kwinter | | Yesterday morning, Porter Airlines hosted an opening ceremony of its own to preview its brand new terminal at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. The terminal, which was completely privately financed, was built at a cost of $50 million over the course of 10 months. It will open to the public on March 7, 2010. Don Carty, chairman of Porter Airlines welcomed the media, its partners, local and federal politicians, and other dignitaries. A ceremony honouring the achievements of WWI pilot Billy Bishop was conducted alongside his son, Arthur Bishop, a flying ace in his own right. Porter plans to add another U.S. city later this year, as well as welcome competition to the new terminal. Keep reading for the news.

Retail partners can continue using the same toll-free numbers and general e-mail addresses to reach the Toronto and Montreal Sales Centre, but should note that the Montreal team is now centrally located in the 7785 Côte-de-Liesse West address when mailing documents.

| BA CABIN CREW VOTE TO STRIKE |
|
British Airways cabin crew votes on strike action; airline offers extra information in case strike dates are announced
Unite, the trade union that represents the majority of British Airways (BA) cabin crew, has announced that its strike ballot has closed with a vote in favour of industrial action. Unite revealed that out of the 11,691 ballot papers that were distributed 7,482 of cabin crew members voted in favour of industrial action. British Airways said in a statement, “We believe some progress has been made in recent talks under the auspices of the TUC and we reiterate our wish to resolve the issues between us in the interests of our customers and all our staff. We would like to reassure you that all of our flights are continuing to operate as normal at this time.”

| LUFTHANSA SETTLES STRIKE |
|
Lufthansa reaches settlement with pilots’ union; strike activity suspended; special flight schedule today Feb. 23
Lufthansa confirms that it has reached a settlement with its pilots' union, Vereinigung Cockpit (VC), to suspend strike activity as of 6:00 pm eastern standard time today, Feb. 22, 2010 until March 8, 2010. The current special flight schedule for intercontinental flights will remain in place for Feb. 23, 2010. Passengers who have been rebooked on other airlines for flights departing North America should proceed with those alternate arrangements. Lufthansa anticipates a normal flight schedule for Friday, Feb. 26, 2010.

India Tourism celebrates its 50th anniversary in Canada with Taj Mahal entry in the 5th annual Ice Fest
India Tourism Toronto recently participated in the 5th annual Ice Fest located in Toronto’s downtown Yorkville area. As indicated by Ronjon Lahiri, director of India Tourism, as well as Vibhava Tripathi, information officer, this year India Tourism Toronto is celebrating its 50th anniversary in Canada. And as a result, the tourism board’s 2010 ice entry of the Ice Taj Mahal was part of this celebration. According to India Tourism Toronto, 2010 will play host to several events and tourist-friendly plans throughout the year, each one organized in commemoration of the 50th anniversary festivities.

KINGFISHER AIRLINES TO JOIN ONEWORLD India's leading domestic carrier and only five-star airline, Kingfisher Airlines, is lining up to join the oneworld alliance after signing a memorandum of understanding as its first step towards full membership, subject to Indian regulatory approval. Kingfisher Airlines today applied to India's Ministry of Civil Aviation for authority to proceed with its membership of oneworld.
