Huang | | With their new Toronto service to begin on March 29, 2010, EVA Air hosted a seminar to introduce the Toronto market to the airline, their service, and the new fleet of B777-300ER aircraft that will be servicing the direct Toronto-Taipei route. With demos available for a first-hand experience, agents and media had the opportunity to get familiar with the aircraft. Attendees were able to sit in the airline’s Premium Laurel Class seats (otherwise known as Business Class), as well as Elite Class, the airline’s premium economy class seating. Air Canada Vacations’ non-stop flight from Halifax to Samana takes off; will run every Thursday until April 29
On February 11, 2010, Air Canada Vacations’ first non-stop flight from Halifax to Samana, El Catey, in the Dominican Republic took off at 9:30 a.m. ET. The new flight, which operates onboard Airbus A319 and seats 120 passengers, will run every Thursday until April 29, 2010. Air Canada Vacations already heads to Samana from Montreal on Saturdays, as well as from Toronto on Saturdays and Sundays. Keep reading for upgrade information, hotel properties and more.

NCL GOES BIGBER IN NEW ORLEANS

Norwegian Cruise Line says it will begin sailing seven-day cruises throughout the entire year from New Orleans, starting this November. The 2,018-passenger Norwegian Spirit now sails from New Orleans every Sunday from November to April, then moves to another port. Year-round service from Louisiana will begin in November. Company and port officials say the move will double the number of passengers that Norwegian Cruise Line can move through New Orleans.
