TRAVELHotNews.com is on location in San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the Caribbean Hotel & Tourism Association's Caribbean Marketplace from Jan. 10 to 12, 2010.
On my way to the destination, I had to transfer via the U.S., with a flight from Toronto's Pearson International Airport (YYZ) to New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK), then onwards to San Juan. Much recent travel news has been devoted to restrictions placed upon Canadian travellers en route to the U.S., and for the benefit of you and your clients, here's a short description of what I experienced on my recent travels.

TORONTO AQUARIUM COMING SOON? Toronto city councillors vote next week on a plan to build a 14,000-square-metre aquarium at the base of the CN Tower. Canada Lands Company, a federal agency that owns the five-acre plot of land the CN Tower sits on, has sought private proposals for three undeveloped acres at the site; it chose Ripley Entertainment to build a three-storey aquarium that is to feature a variety of aquatic species, from jellyfish to sharks. If the plans are approved, the aquarium should open in three years. The project includes the 14,000-square-metre aquarium as well as an adjoining 4,353 square metre retail development on the west side of CN Tower. |
